Programs and Courses
We are a French immersion school where the language of instruction is French. English language skills are taught in blocks comprising approximately 25% of the school day, except in kindergarten where 100% of instruction is in French. Our focus is to offer a strong academic program in a safe environment for all students.
What about English Language Arts? In Grades 1 to 5, English Language Arts instruction occupies 25% of the class time. The program is based on the Manitoba English Language Arts Curriculum and consists of the basic language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Educational Support Services
Educational Support Services in the St. James-Assiniboia School Division has a professional staff of full and part-time clinicians who provide clinical services to students in the division. This professional staff includes speech and language pathologists; social workers; psychologists; a consulting psychiatrist and a part-time physiotherapist.
