This site is maintained by the Supervisor of Library/Media Services for the St. James-Assiniboia School Division for use by Division staff. This site organizes links gathered from various Internet searches, from sources such as LM_NET (a Library Media Listserv) and the Manitoba School Library Listserv, and recommended sites from various periodical articles.


This site is accessible from any Division computer.  See your school's library technician for information about password access from home. This database has full text for magazines such as Canadian Geographic.Faces, National Geographic For Kids and National Geographic World.

The Children's Room section provides access to A to Zoo: Subject access to children's picture books.  Also in this section, check out Kids' Corner for books that have been made into movies
Many of the book listings contain book reviews.

Provides access to databases such as InfoTrac,CBCA: Full Text Educational Journals (Canadian), Encyclopedia of Education, Encyclopedia Britannica, and Dictionary of Canadian Biography.  See school library technician for password.

Lots of good information on reading, authors and books.

Lists all the audio-visual resources at the Media Centre. Click the site's Messages tab for detailed instructions on using the site.  St. James-Assiniboia teachers with login and password can use this site to book resources.  Contact the Media Centre to set up your account.

No password required.  To check your school's collection from home, ask your school library technician for your school's 3 digit code that is entered in keyword box.

Database of books online plus author information and interviews, readings by authors and more.  A password is required for access from home.  Check with your school's library technician for thie password. The request for an email address can be ignored.  However on the Educator's Page, providing your email address increases the number of options you can access on the web page.
