Assiniboine-front-angled-450x311.jpgWelcome to École Assiniboine Online!

École Assiniboine is an early years (K-5) French Immersion school in Winnipeg, Manitoba. View a map showing our location. Use the School Locator to find your catchment area.

French is the language of instruction for all subjects except English Language Arts. Both English and French languages are reflected in the general school activities such as concerts, sports and special events.  Our school mascot is “AMI ALOUETTE”.

We stress the importance of good communication between the home and the school.  We are all here to work together in order that the children may derive the most from their education.

Mission Statement

À l’école Assiniboine, notre but est de devenir respectueux, responsable et actif dans notre apprentissage en français et en anglais.

At École Assiniboine, our purpose is to grow as respectful, responsible, active life-long bilingual (French and English) learners.

Our Philosophy

To respect ourselves and others.  We accept differences and treat others the way we want to be treated.  To grow in responsibility and self-discipline.  We take ownership of our learning and development.  To focus on being active life-long learners.  We speak French, write, read, calculate, create, participate in physical activities and reason in a safe and fair environment.  With a better education, we can prepare for a better future.

First Term Report Cards and Conferences

First term report cards will be sent home with your child on Wednesday, November 25, 2015.  The conferences will be held on Thursday, November 26th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday, November 27th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  We will be using an "Open House" drop-in format so there is no need to book a conference time.  Parents and students are invited to go into the classroom during any of these times listed.  Students will celebrate all of their hard work, so we do hope you will come out and share their accomplishments with them.

Scholastic Bookfair

During the conference times, Parent Council will be holding a Scholastic Bookfair in the gymnasium.  A percentage of sales from the bookfair will go towards the purchase of classroom books.

Bake Sale

Parent Council will be holding a bake sale on Wednesday, December 16th and Thursday, December 17th preceding the Winter Concerts.  All funds raised will go towards enhancing school activities.  Anyone wishing to donate baked goods can drop them off at the school office between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. no later than Monday, December 14th.    Please ensure that all items packaged individually for ease of pricing and that they are nut-free and do not require refrigeration.

Medication at School
If your child needs to take medication during school hours, it must be stored at the school office and be administered by school personnel. The first 24 hours of the medication must have been given at home or in the hospital to be sure that it is well tolerated. An "Administration of Prescribed Medication" form must be filled out by the parent and the physician. Please click on the link below to download a form and take with you to the doctor if your child may need medication.
