Assiniboine-front-angled-450x311.jpgWelcome to École Assiniboine Online!

École Assiniboine is an early years (K-5) French Immersion school in Winnipeg, Manitoba. View a map showing our location. Use the School Locator to find your catchment area.

French is the language of instruction for all subjects except English Language Arts. Both English and French languages are reflected in the general school activities such as concerts, sports and special events.  Our school mascot is “AMI ALOUETTE”.

We stress the importance of good communication between the home and the school.  We are all here to work together in order that the children may derive the most from their education.

Mission Statement

À l’école Assiniboine, notre but est de devenir respectueux, responsable et actif dans notre apprentissage en français et en anglais.

At École Assiniboine, our purpose is to grow as respectful, responsible, active life-long bilingual (French and English) learners.

Our Philosophy

To respect ourselves and others.  We accept differences and treat others the way we want to be treated.  To grow in responsibility and self-discipline.  We take ownership of our learning and development.  To focus on being active life-long learners.  We speak French, write, read, calculate, create, participate in physical activities and reason in a safe and fair environment.  With a better education, we can prepare for a better future.

Family Math Night

On Tuesday, October 21st, our school will be hosting a Family Math Night.  This is an opportunity for you to enjoy some quality one-on-one educational time with your child through fun and interesting math games.

The evening is planned for our students and their families from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m.  You are free to come and go as you please.  We will have stations set up to support different math concepts and different levels.  We encourage families to try the different stations throughout the night.

We will be serving pizza for dinner.  We are asking $1.00 per slice and $0.50 for either boxed juice or bottled water to help cover the cost of the food.  Please submit one order form per family with money enclosed.  Tickets will be handed out when you arrive.

If you are planning on attending and would like to order pizza, please fill in the bottom portion of the order sheet and return it by October 16 in order for us to make the appropriate arrangements.   It is not necessary to order food to be able to attend.

We are looking forward to seeing you there!

School Bus Safety Week in Manitoba

In 2014, School Bus Safety Week will be observed October 20-24.

The poster theme: Be Smart - Be Seen, I wait in a safe place!

Although the School Bus Safety Week theme changes annually, one message remains constant – be aware and be safe around the school bus.

Medication at School
If your child needs to take medication during school hours, it must be stored at the school office and be administered by school personnel. The first 24 hours of the medication must have been given at home or in the hospital to be sure that it is well tolerated. An "Administration of Prescribed Medication" form must be filled out by the parent and the physician. Please click on the link below to download a form and take with you to the doctor if your child may need medication.
