Out of Catchment Waiting List:
Notice to Parents of NEW KINDERGARTEN TO GRADE 5 STUDENTS wishing to register for the FIRST time in a school OTHER THAN THEIR CATCHMENT SCHOOL:
The Manitoba Government has stated that 90% of Kindergarten to Grade 3 classrooms are required to have 20 or fewer students by September, 2017. With very limited space, the Division has to be extremely cautious with registrations so as not to exceed these thresholds.
As a result, no out-of-catchment Kindergarten to Grade 3 students will be accepted prior to June 26th. Grade 4 & 5 students will be advised of their status by March 24th.
As in the past, younger siblings of registered students from out-of-catchment as well as out-of-catchment children attending in-school daycares will not receive priority for registration. Classrooms are staffed based upon the number of in-catchment registrations.
Registration begins January 27, 2017. At 8:00 a.m. that morning, an on-line service will be available for parents wishing to register in a school other than their catchment area school. Upon completion, this service will create an electronically date and time stamped form which will establish an ordered waiting list.
Parents who do not have internet access may complete their on-line form at any early years school beginning at 8:00 a.m. on January 27th. On, or even after, June 26th, if space permits,
out-of-catchment students will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis with In-Division students receiving priority over Out-Of-Division students. More information will be available at each school’s open house. Any questions or concerns should be discussed with the Principal(s).
Note: Out-of-catchment students currently registered at the school may continue attending through Grade 5.
